Sun on the Street is The Sun’s multimedia series interviewing students around campus on a variety of relevant topics.
The band Good Head performs their original songs in the latest Sun Session. In collaboration with Electric Buffalo Records, a student-run, not-for-profit record label, each Sun Session aims to spotlight the musical talents of Cornell students.
“Succession” producer Scott Ferguson ’82 and “American Masters” producer Michael Kantor ’83 shared stories about their career paths and impactful experiences as Cornell undergraduate students.
I’m a mess in the kitchen, both literally and figuratively — just ask my roommate. When I moved to Collegetown my sophomore year, my roommate and I figured out a solid routine: I cook and she cleans. This works for us because I would like to think of myself as a relatively decent chef, but I am a HORRIBLE dishwasher. My kitchen techniques definitely leave much to be desired (more on that later), but I enjoy cooking and sharing it with others. I don’t like recipes.
From formal academic meetings with peer advisors in the daytime to informal social treks to Collegetown at night, orientation week is a universal experience shared by freshmen across all seven colleges to get them started on their Cornell journey.

As the final installation of one of the most popular young adult series of the decade (and the catalyst for the current teen-dystopian trend), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 had a lot to accomplish. It had to show how high the stakes were for Katniss and the rest of Panem. It had to finish what Mockingjay — Part 1 started, a film that many accused of being merely a setup for Part 2. It had to give millions of fans closure and bring a mega-franchise to its epic conclusion. So did it accomplish all that lay before it?
