The prioritization of sleep can easily end up as an afterthought for college students with an overload of activities and schoolwork on their plate.
In a survey distributed by The Sun, Cornellians reported a varying average hours of sleep per night. Half of the 28 respondents — representing six of the seven undergraduate colleges — said they get, on average, the National Institute of Health recommended seven to nine hours of sleep that young adults need.
Today I have a challenge for you. A simple one, yes, and maybe a pointless one too, but a challenge. For no immediate reason, try and stay up for as long as you possibly can. Most people, in my experience, do not want to do this. I like asking casual acquaintances how long they’ve ever stayed awake at a time, and after people tell me, they almost always say something like, “Ugh, it was awful.
