The Student Assembly voted to overturn its original decision to decrease the funding of the Gender Justice Advocacy Coalition — which operates the Free Menstrual Products initiative — at its Nov. 16 meeting.
The Student Assembly has elected the official new Vice President of Finance — Valeria Valencia ’23 who previously served as first generation student representative at-large.
When I read EARS’ application for funding, I saw serious issues with how they planned to spend their money. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose many details. Though it is certainly unethical that organization budgets being funded by student tuitions are not public. It speaks volumes about the relationship between the S.A. and the student body when the only details that are public are ones that are on the audio recordings for meetings.
As the end-of-semester funding deadline approaches, the Student Assembly is in the midst of finding a new vice president of finance following the resignation of Morgan Baker ’23.
