Now halfway through my junior year, having survived a college experience colored by the COVID-19 pandemic, family members outside of my immediate family have finally been allowed to come visit Cornell and Ithaca after hearing me talk about campus for years.
Tour groups — we’ve all seen them: clusters of high school students and parents roaming across campus, listening intently to a person at the front who’s walking backwards and smoothly rattling off stories and facts about every aspect of life at Cornell. But there is a lot more to being a tour guide than meets the eye. Here are a few things you might not have known.
By busing participants to various battlefields and including a lecture each day by Prof. David Silbey ’90, the tour aims to bring “understanding [of] the battle at the ground level,” Silbey told The Sun.
