Approximately 30 protesters marched across the Arts Quad and around Ho Plaza, questioning the actions of the oversight board and Gov. Ricardo Rossello and calling for unity amongst the 11 campuses of UPR.
Four weeks into the semester, University of Puerto Rico students are adjusting to Ithaca’s weather, their new work load and Cornell’s social scene.
Participants at the rally listened to the governors’ speeches and to Cornell leaders involved in the Puerto Rican recovery effort.
Last semester Cornell was witness to a potential hate crime in Collegetown, continued overzealous behavior by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a display of rank anti-Semitism and the abrupt end to the once-promising political career of a graduate of Cornell in a precursor to the #MeToo movement.
