Men’s and women’s swim and dive are both 2-0 on the season.
Women’s swimming and diving teams competed at the Ivy League Championships this past weekend, ending with a final ranking of No. 7 in the Ivy League standings.
“[This race was] a good opportunity to get up and race one last time before the Ivy Championships, allowing us to go into championship season feeling confident and having the best lineup possible.”
The women’s team beat Dartmouth in a tight meet before falling to Harvard, while the men’s team fell to Harvard and Dartmouth.
In a preseason scrimmage, the Red won 2 out of 18 events, the 400-yard IM and 50-yard freestyle, against the University of Buffalo.
“I think that we kind of did anticipate not being at the top of every heat which is okay, but … this weekend will be a good measure of people’s best times in their best events”
“Keeping our foot on the gas is something I think this team will be good at.”
“[We have been] paying even more attention to detail and focusing on putting everything together to get as close to a technically perfect race as possible,” senior Cari Stankaitis said. “This, in addition to our competitive drive, will help us to reach our potential at the Ivy’s.”
The loss against Brown caps off the team’s dual-meet schedule with a 4-6 overall record and 2-5 Ivy record.
Looking to go .500 on the year, the women take on Brown this weekend.
