“I was kind of in shock, but at the same time, with the progression of everything getting canceled, it was just a matter of time,” said senior Chas Tucker.

“I was kind of in shock, but at the same time, with the progression of everything getting canceled, it was just a matter of time,” said senior Chas Tucker.
“This team wrestled far over anyone’s expectations, and to qualify eight for the NCAA Tournament — and only two of those wrestlers had ever qualified — to get six new qualifiers was really a remarkable achievement,” said head coach Rob Koll.
“It was a great showing from top to bottom. Every single wrestler wrestled above their seed, and I’ve never had a tournament like that,” Koll said.
This marks Chas Tucker’s third first team All-Ivy honor.
“It’s time to get after it, time to scrap and time to just be free out there.”
“It makes me proud to have had all of these guys with us for this long — it is a brutal sport and you don’t always get the rewards if you’re not starting,” said head coach Rob Koll.
“It’s a disappointment, not a tragedy,” said head coach Rob Koll. “We always expect to win the championship — it’s been 17 years since we haven’t.
“The Ivy League championships is something we are thinking about every day and working towards.”
After starting the season with an 0-2 mark, the Red went 6-3 over the break.
Even though the Red has embarked on this 2019 season without four of its top wrestlers, Cornell’s 2019 results in the tournament eclipsed its performance last year. In 2018, Cornell secured only 40 points, placing 21st in the invitational.
