Update: Police Identify Body Found in Six Mile Creek

The body found in Six Mile Creek late Saturday afternoon has been identified as Wendi M. Owens of Enfield, New York, the Ithaca Police Department stated in a press release on Sunday.

Owens was 31 years old. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

The body was first found in Six Mile Creek floating behind the railroad bridge off of Fulton Street on Saturday night, according to IPD. She was discovered by kayakers paddling down the creek that afternoon and pulled from the water by police shortly thereafter.
