The team used roughly 200 plastic water bottles found on campus to create the display. This represents 1/20th of the plastic waste generated by Cornell undergraduate students on a daily basis.
The event will showcase projects from various organizations, including the School of Integrated Plant Science, the communication department, the Lab of Ornithology and Cornell Botanic Gardens.
The University launched an awareness campaign in January that uses social media and on-campus posters to raise awareness about disabilities and help create an inclusive environment on campus for individuals with disabilities.
“There were many times I was doing my all to fight back the tears, [but] as a group, we knew we needed to fight our feelings and be as supportive as possible,” Aoife Casey ’19 said.
Pulitzer Prize nominee Prof. David Feldshuh, performing and media arts, casts his Tony and Emmy nominated sister to star in his new play, Dancing with Giants.
“We officially broke the record at 1:25:02 p.m. on Sunday, which was one of my favorite moments of the entire experience,” said David Navadeh ’19, chapter treasurer and event organizer. “We’d been bouncing in the rain for about 12 hours at that point, and everyone was soaked and exhausted.”
