We want to maximize our feeling of belonging on a diverse and huge campus like Cornell – even if that sense of belonging lies in a jacket.
People express themselves through their clothing. Whether consciously or unconsciously, how we dress changes how other people view us. Perhaps this is why, as with any group of people, similarities occur as trends rise and fall. As the times evolve, so does fashion. But what does this say about the student body? It’s like Cornell has an unspoken dress code that a significant chunk of students subscribe to.
The demonstrators hoped that those who currently own Canada Goose products never buy from them again and donate the detachable coyote-fur trim of their coats.
A protest led by the Cornell Students for Animal Rights and Cornell Vegan Society, led to some people putting a “Canada Douche” sticker on their Canada Goose jackets.
