Over a decade ago, when MTV’s hit show The Real World first aired, little did any of us realize that reality television would one day consume our primetime lives. For so long, The Real World was the king of its domain, as other television trends, from the school hallways of Saved by the Bell to the hot seat of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, entertained us and then exited. Until, of course, Marc Burnett came along and sold his Survivor idea to CBS.
