Cornell Changes OmniRide Policy

Print More

Cornell announced on Friday that it will provide free OmniRide bus passes to student holders of B, MW, FH and SE parking permits in 2007-08, two days after the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly contended at a University Assembly meeting that the new OmniRide student program would unfairly limit the mobility of the graduate and professional student community. Under the original program, holders of B, MW, FH and SE parking permits would have been charged an additional fee of $100 for an OmniRide bus pass.
The University’s new bus pass plan also entitles holders of ND parking permits who are also displaced West Campus residents to a free OmniRide bus pass. The amended plan leaves intact a $200 bus pass fee for all continuing students as well as the availability of a $200 bus pass to spouses and domestic partners of Cornell students with a valid CUID. Cornell students will continue to have free access to TCAT buses after 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
