U.S. News and World Report ranked several Cornell graduate programs among the top 20 in the nation in its March report on 1,200 American graduate school programs.

The rankings, which have been both dismissed by dozens of college presidents and widely publicized by other schools, grade graduate programs based on “expert opinions” and data on faculty, research and students in programs, according to U.S. News’ website.

In the fall, Cornell was ranked 15th among national universities — schools offering undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. programs — for the fourth year in a row.
