Former Cornell Student Found Dead in Collegetown

Zachary C. Wilson, a Cornell undergraduate who was on leave from the University, was found dead Friday in Collegetown, according to the Ithaca Police Department. Wilson was 23 years old.

No foul play is suspected, and the IPD is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, according to Jamie Williamson, public information officer for IPD.

In a University statement, Susan Murphy ’73 Ph.D. ’94, vice president of student and academic services, expressed her condolences to Wilson’s family and the Cornell community.

“I want to express my sadness on hearing of Zachary’s death and extend my heartfelt condolences, on behalf of our Cornell community, to his family and friends,” Murphy said in the statement Monday. “Our crisis management professionals have reached out to those closest to Zachary and offered support from the University during this difficult time.”
