It was the “pur-fect rescue,” Ithaca firefighters said.

City firefighters and staff from the SPCA of Tompkins County rescued a black kitten that had been trapped in a drain pipe, according to a post the Ithaca Fire Department published on Facebook Tuesday.

The kitten may have fallen into the pipe on Fulton Street after storms hit the City of Ithaca earlier this week, according to the IFD.

The kitten is now “doing well,” Kate Walker, senior humane investigator at the SPCA, said to the IFD.
