Cornell has reached an agreement with TCAT to increase its payment to the organization and collaborate on a more sustainable funding model for it, the University announced Thursday.

This decision comes about five months after President David Skorton announced that the University did not have the means to subsidize TCAT past what it is currently paying at approximately $3.43 million annually. Some students and faculty — including both the Student and University Assemblies — called upon Cornell to increase these subsidies in order to address TCAT’s $740,000 deficit, The Sun previously reported.
