Cornell Police have made an arrest in the group assault incident that occurred outside Myron Taylor Hall on May 1st, according to a CUPD release.

Eric J. Kim ’17 arrived shortly after the altercation started and caused “serious physical injuries” by kicking the victim in the face while the victim was on the ground, the release said.

The victim reported that he was trying to diffuse a fight between a friend — who was not a Cornell student — and several males and a female. The victim said that he was then assaulted by additional people who joined the altercation after it started, The Sun previously reported.

All suspects fled the scene immediately after the fight.

Kim was charged with one count of assault in the second-degree and was released on his own recognizance Friday after being arraigned in the City of Ithaca Court, according to the release.
