Two unidentified males robbed a female Cornell undergraduate last night of her wallet and backpack as she was crossing the Trolley footbridge that connects Collegetown and the Engineering Quad at approximately 11 p.m, according to Ithaca Police Department (IPD) reports. One of the perpetrators allegedly wielded a handgun during the robbery. The victim was not injured.

After taking the items, the two males left the scene, heading north onto campus, according to a Cornell News Service press release. The victim, and a passerby, contacted Cornell Police, who subsequently alerted IPD. The two departments searched the area and recovered the victim’s backpack, but did not apprehend the suspects, who are described as males wearing dark baggy pants and dark hooded sweatshirts, according to the Cornell statement.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Cornell Police at 255-1111 or Ithaca Police at 272-3245.
