This weekend, my family drove from our native county of Nassau, to the far off land of Suffolk, to celebrate the festive tradition of drinking sugary wine and eating bread no one bothered to leaven. At this year’s festive gathering, the participants included my mother, father, and brother, our friend Morrison, his wife Maureen, and Morrison’s 19-year-old daughter, Amber. Also in attendance were Morrison and Maureen’s friends, Pete and Cinderella, and their young daughters, Spanky and Anastasia.
