For five years, the men’s lacrosse team had been carrying a monkey on its back. Not since 1995 had the Red grappled with upstate rival Hobart and come out on top. But after sailing to an 11-3 victory over the Statesmen yesterday at Schoellkopf Field, Cornell was finally able to put an end to the drought and jettison that monkey back to Geneva, N.Y.
“It’s been a long time coming. We lost two heartbreaking games my freshman year and my sophomore year,” said senior tri-captain David Key.
