Softball Takes on Syracuse in Doubleheader

The softball team (24-6, 7-3 Ivy) will take a break from league play today, when it heads to Syracuse to face its Central New York rival in an afternoon doubleheader. Cornell enters the game after splitting its four weekend games with Princeton and Penn, while the Orange (12-20, 4-8 Big East) is coming off two tough weekend losses to Notre Dame.

“Although Syracuse’s record isn’t outstanding right now, of course they play a very demanding schedule,” Blood said.

Last weekend, the Red lost two crucial Ivy games to Princeton before bouncing back to sweep Penn on Saturday. Cornell’s defense and pitching, which had been solid for most of the season, faltered against the Tigers, as the squad committed three errors and the pitching staff allowed six homers.
