TV on the Radio will be opening for T.I. on Slope Day this year, members of the Slope Day Programming Board announced at yesterday’s Student Assembly meeting.

The Brooklyn-based avant garde quintet showed up on every major best-of list in 2006, including number one rankings on Spin’s and number two on Pitchfork’s. Return to Cookie Mountain’s main single, “Wolf Like Me,” mixes post-punk with atmospherics.

David Bowie considers the band one of his favorites today, even contributing backup vocals on the track “Province.”

According to Liz Giorgios ’07, chair of the SDPB, a second opener will be announced in the near future.

“Our basic goal is to create a diverse line-up,” she said.
