The NHL: An Evolving Game

Over the summer whenever I tuned into SportsCenter or looked at the sports headlines on AOL (yes, I still use AOL), I was constantly reminded that the state of American football was on uncertain ground. Since then, the longest lockout in NFL history has ended and the 2011 football season has been saved. But, what would have happened if the lockout never ended? That situation, unimaginable for many Americans, drew my attention back to the dark days of 2004-05 when the world of hockey came to a crashing halt.
