Productive Winter Fuels Golf’s Spring

The golf team is halfway through its season, but after nearly a five-month layoff since its last competitive match back in October, there is no doubt that the team is feeling a sense of a new season.
“[Starting back up in the spring] basically feels like a fresh start,” said sophomore C.J. Karrer. “It takes a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.”
The Ithaca weather does not allow for too much outdoor practice, but the installation of a new golf simulator, along with a week-long trip to Orlando, Fla., has allowed the players to get in good practice and stay on top of their game throughout the winter offseason.

Gymnastics Strives for ECAC Medal Stand

The gymnastics team is coming off of its best performance of the season and it could not have picked a better time to hit its stride. With the ECAC championships this weekend in Williamsburg, Va., there is a strong sense of confidence among the team.
“We definitely feel a lot more confident going into this weekend,” said sophomore Molly Parker. “Right now we’re only improving, we’re right there with all of the other teams, the championship is really up for grabs.”

Red Gets a Break Before Quad Meet

The ECAC championships are fast approaching for the gymnastics team, which is currently sitting in second place in the ECAC. But first, the squad travels to Pennsylvania to close out the regular season with a quad meet against Pittsburgh, Temple and North Carolina. But before it competes in its last regular season meet, the team is going to enjoy some well-deserved time off.
“I think everybody is looking forward to getting some time off and relaxing before the biggest part of our season,” said freshman Irene Leung, who led the team in points before an Achilles tendon injury last month sidelined her for the season. “It will definitely benefit everybody to go into the last month refreshed.”
