After attending a Conference on Mental Illness at Brown University, the Cornell delegation hopes to bring the discussion topics back to campus and implement new mental health initiatives that recognize different cultural backgrounds and nationalities.
The basic motivator was through the Student Assembly. They wanted the general housing selection to be about friends, and they proposed quite a few of the changes,” said Kristen Loparco, undergraduate housing coordinator. “We had a team of students, staff and IT work together based off of the resolution.”
Prof. Christopher Barrett, applied economics and management, called Sisler a “legendary instructor.”
“[The proposed building] seems pretty inefficient unless the visiting faculty is staying for months,” Andrew Kozma ’17 said. “Why wouldn’t they build the complex for undergraduates?”
“I realized that there are some kinds of misconceptions, stereotypes and stigmas around motorcycles here, but at the same time I saw that there are students who have been trying to fight that stigma and go for it anyway despite the harsh weather,” said Shantanu Naidu MBA ’18, the organization’s founder and president.
“We differentiate the Big Red Shuttle as being the first free, student-run, on-campus transportation system,” said Danielle Charpentier ’17, co-director of the program. “Unlike the TCAT, [the shuttle runs] until 3 a.m., and unlike taxis, we are reliable and free.”
“When I applied, I didn’t think there was anything I could lose from it,” McCabe said.
“We decided to delve into the archive that dealt with all this rich sound from ten years prior — complex sound tapes from some of the world’s richest areas of biodiversity — and enrich the story,” McQuay said.
