Despite heading into halftime with a 1-0 deficit, the Red came back and were able to overcome St. Francis, 2-1.
On top of the win, Cornell is also outpacing itself in goals scored compared to this point last year.
The team was unable to come away from the season-opening road trip with a victory.
After a disappointing 2016 campaign, a rejuvenated Cornell men’s soccer program begins its season looking to right the ship.
“We’re a young team that is graduating just two players. A lot of the players who helped us this year will be helping us again next year.”
Cornell was not able to win the series against Penn, but shined in a 5-0 shutout against the Quakers for its only win of the weekend.
“This team has a relentless refuse-to-lose attitude.”
“We did a very good job finishing off third sets and winning four matches there.”
“It wasn’t the prettiest performance of the season, but it was a good chance for us to show that we can win without being at our best.”
“We’ve been playing solid baseball as of late. The team has a lot of confidence and is excited to continue improving.”
