“It will be different suddenly not having my entire team there beside me, but I know they all still have my back and will be cheering me on from home.”

“It will be different suddenly not having my entire team there beside me, but I know they all still have my back and will be cheering me on from home.”
“The team’s performance this weekend was exceptional. This meet was a cap to a phenomenal season — the team morale reflects that and the stats reflect that as well.”
“We had a few mistakes, but overall, it was a solid performance by everyone and a great warm up for this weekend’s ECAC Championship.”
“In the 11 weekends we compete, there is always bound to be one meet where we don’t do as well as we expect, and it always lights a fire to excel in the next competition.”
“We had some setbacks over the past few weeks with injuries or illness that kept key people out, but the team really worked hard to get ready for this meet.”
Gymnastics will look to improve on this past weekend’s record-setting quad meet as it prepares for West Chester.
“We had such an exciting and positive atmosphere from the entire team … we’re really looking forward to the home meet this weekend,”
It was a weekend of many victories for the entire team: freshman Lyanda Dudley was named ECAC Rookie of the Year and fellow freshman Kaitlin Green won Specialist of the Year. Aside from the players, the coaches also won top awards with Melanie Dilliplane earning Assistant Coach of the Year and Paul Beckwith garnering his second Coach of the Year award.
Looking to set the pace for the ECAC Championship this weekend, the Cornell gymnastics team traveled Pennsylvania to compete against West Chester University. The Red was able to pull out a very close win, 192.350 to 192.000. Up next is the conference championship
The gymnastics team scored over 192 points for the third straight meet to open the season, breaking a school record in the process. Still, the effort was not enough to earn a victory this past Sunday against Bridgeport. The Red fell by a score of 194.175 to 192.225 against the Knights. Cornell broke another record in the defeat, scoring a 48.775 on beam to surpass the previous record of 48.700 in 2004. Cornell placed the top three performers in the event.
