Thanks to a strong second-half effort in Philadelphia, the Red earned its first Ivy League win of the season.
Cornell hits the road to play Penn this weekend, seeking its first Ivy win of the season.
Cornell and Yale traded goals throughout Saturday’s contest, but in the end, Cornell fell short in the 13-11 loss.
Follow along as the Red takes on the three-time defending Ivy League champs in its attempt to reassert its conference dominance.
“Our goal is not to show well in the Ivy League or maybe sneak into the Ivy League playoff,” Milliman said. “Our goal is to win the Ivy League.”
With the win, Cornell secured a winning record for the first time in nearly two years.
The Red started Tuesday night’s contest with a 10-0 run against the Bearcats.
Christian Knight’s 16 saves per game are most in the country, and his .593 save percentage is fifth-best.
Late in the contest, the Red looked primed to topple No. 1 Albany, but fell victim to a late Great Dane rally.
Albany’s high-powered offense will be a major concern for a Cornell squad that ranked 68th with respect to team defense last season, allowing 13.46 goals per game.
