Despite hardships caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Women’s Opportunity Center does its best to stay afloat.
After state budget cuts forced the Women’s Opportunity Center to lay off seven employees at the beginning of October, the center has made progress in its struggle for government funding.
The Women’s Opportunity Center has not received full funding from New York State since March, forcing the organization to lay off seven employees at a time when the pandemic has strained demand for career training services.
The Women’s Opportunity Center is now offering both virtual and mail-based career services to support displaced women, many of whom are divorced or widowed.
