Governor-elect Eliot Spitzer (D) announced yesterday that former President Hunter R. Rawlings III and Elizabeth Moore, a member of the Cornell Board of Trustees, have been appointed as co-chairs for his transition team.

Moore is a partner in the law firm of Nixon Peabody, where she focuses on employment issues, including diversity and contingent work force issues.
Rawlings, the 10th president of Cornell, is currently a professor in the classics department.

“As longtime leaders of New York’s land grant university, Rawlings and Moore have actively contributed to the well being of all New Yorkers,” President David J. Skorton said in a press release. “We are very fortunate to have leaders of such caliber as members of Governor-elect Spitzer’s transition team.”
