For two straight days the Oxley Equestrian Center was filled with the sights, sound and smells of the men’s and women’s polo teams. The men won a close match against Giant Valley, 14-13, on Friday night, while the women defeated CPC on Saturday, 14-8.
The men came from behind in their match, after having its original opponent, Toronto, reschedule because of the poor travel conditions. Junior Bobby Harvey led the Red with seven goals, while freshman Max Constant added four, and junior Rich Weidel contributed three.
The women were also supposed to be facing off against Toronto, but instead faced CPC. The match was competitive throughout, with both sides trading points. Cornell took the lead with three minutes left in the competition and didn’t let it go. Junior Emily Bold led the Red with six goals, followed by classmate Arianna Constant with five. A horse also kicked in a goal.
