“Poor execution of the press and a lack of intent while rebounding significantly reduced our chances of winning the game.”
The game in Fort Collins, Colorado was the second in a four-game road trip.
Four Cornellians got to play in their home state over Thanksgiving weekend, an opportunity that was “a dream come true.”
Cornell led for much of the first half, but fell to Binghamton in its season-opener.
Cornell will hope to improve upon its seventh-place finish in the Ivy League.
“We took poor shots, had poor execution…[while] Brown’s retiring seniors played with a lot of emotion,” Smith said.
Smith will likely continue an interesting recent experiment in transitioning Widmann from the guard spot to the frontcourt.
The Cornell women’s basketball team stayed middling after this weekend’s road trip to Dartmouth and Harvard.

“I thought they did a nice job of setting the tone early with the speed and the aggressiveness of their offensive transition and … we didn’t respond quick enough.”
