After dropping three in a row to Dartmouth, softball’s woes continued into its series against Penn, where defensive mishaps likely cost the team two conference games.
Both games saw the Green win due to an imposing offensive, earning them overall scores of 8-4 and 7-2 in their favor.
Run production hobbled the Red as it squared off against Villanova and Delaware.
The Red and Lions have met 22 times since 1997, and Cornell is a perfect 22-0.
“I’m excited for [nationals]. It’s an exciting meet because it’s at a much bigger stage and it’s something that all of the top swimmers in the country get to go to.”
The excitement for Heps is palpable and every single player going is ready to prove themselves, both individually and as a program.
“I’m not just a boring Midwesterner, I don’t think I am.”
“I thought they did a nice job of setting the tone early with the speed and the aggressiveness of their offensive transition and … we didn’t respond quick enough.”
The squad is set to face the same Columbia team once again this Saturday on home court, and will look to pull out its ninth consecutive win against the Lions.
“I think that we kind of did anticipate not being at the top of every heat which is okay, but … this weekend will be a good measure of people’s best times in their best events”
