There was more disagreement between presidential candidates Jung Won Kim ’18 and Matthew Indimine ’18 than there were between the EVP candidates.
Aimed to address the community’s concerns for students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status, particularly following President Donald Trump’s election, the University held a panel discussion to elaborate its policy.
“The number of Cornell students and alumni applying to law school has decreased significantly,” Sparrow said. “For Cornell seniors and alumni applying to law schools during that time, the decline was even greater at 53 percent.”
“Ted was the most important social scientist to teach at Cornell in the school’s entire history,” said Isaac Kramnick, the Richard J. Schwartz professor of government emeritus.
“I believe in equal rights for everyone, and I believe that Planned Parenthood isn’t about helping women,” Melody Zimmerman, President of the Students for Life club at Ithaca College said.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed a new tuition plan to supplement the aid for students attending two and four-year public universities in New York.
“She was a wonderful colleague — such a creative thinker and innovative researcher,” said Prof. Mildred Warner, city and regional planning. “It was an intellectual feast to be part of her classes or research team.”
Participants carried signs that read, “No more hate, stand up for love,” “No more compliance, stand up for justice,” “Not my president” and “Love trumps hate.” Some wore safety pins to encourage campus safety; others lifted flags to represent their marginalized group.
