A student-led task force launched in February to investigate Cornell’s mental health issues is now gearing up to release a petition proposing changes to the University’s mental health policy.
Oyindamola Adisa ’17, a student from Nigeria, said in a letter to S.A. that her father died of cancer months after she had been accepted to Cornell, and that his death had nearly kept her from attending the University.
A new environmental sustainability major was approved last Wednesday by the Cornell Faculty Senate and will be available by fall 2018.
“I am also somebody who believes in the American dream — as I see it. It is being able to revive the same quality of life for my family that my family provided for me,” he explained.
