The Common Council passed the budget for the 2025 fiscal year after multiple proposals to cut costs failed following outcry from city staff.
President Martha E. Pollack contested the idea that Cornell doesn’t pay its fair share in an interview with The Sun on Monday.
Under the pilot program, voters could propose adding a speed bump on a busy road, fixing a swing set, funding community organizations and more.
Mayor Svante Myrick ’09 backed away from vetoing changes to his 2018 budget, paving the way for the amended budget, which raises taxes by 1 percent, to pass next week.
