The Red tallied seven shots total, two of which were on goal. At the end of the first half, Princeton committed a foul in the box setting up junior forward George Pedlow for a penalty kick. Pedlow missed the kick and the ensuing rebound in a sequence indicative of the Red’s performance.
“The middle part of the season is where championships are won.”
“Any win on the road is special,” Smith said. “It’s not easy to win road games, and so for us to have won five already this year is quite remarkable. I am happy with the fact that we stayed positive after giving up a two goal lead. Many teams would have crumbled at that point against a good Lehigh team.”
“Although I don’t want to get in the habit of going behind in games, it does show a great level of mental toughness and belief.”

In its first home game of the season, Cornell men’s soccer fell to Syracuse 0-2, breaking a three game win streak, but gained some valuable confidence and learned critical lessons for the future.
Cornell is off to not just a blazing start, but a historical one for the program.
Despite fielding a roster in which 21 of the team’s 28 players are underclassmen, youth proved to be an asset — not a liability — in the Red’s season opening defeats of Binghamton and St. Francis.
