“The culture is here now.”
Junior Ryan Hill scored on a one-on-one chance in the overtime period to give Cornell the monumental upset victory over the Orange.
Cornell played valiantly against the Griffins, holding its own against a team renowned for its scoring ability.
On top of the win, Cornell is also outpacing itself in goals scored compared to this point last year.
The team was unable to come away from the season-opening road trip with a victory.
After a winless trip down to Texas, Cornell will get its first chance to play at home this upcoming Friday, Sept. 8.
“Obviously there are some things we need to work on, but I’m really happy with what I saw on the field,” said head coach John Smith.
After a disappointing 2016 campaign, a rejuvenated Cornell men’s soccer program begins its season looking to right the ship.
Seven of Cornell’s last nine games will be against Ivy foes.
