Is It Worth It? Navigating The 161 Things List

There’s a good chance you mortified someone in your household when the Cornell Daily Sun arrived on your doorstep after your admission. They opened the paper to see “161 Things Every Cornellian Should Do,” and the first item on the list was: “1. Make the library into your bedroom and have sex in the stacks.” While that is arguably the most suggestive task on the list, there are definitely some that are either unachievable or way too accessible.

A Day In The Life: Eating Out Under $15 As A Cornell Student 

Eating on a college budget can be difficult. Eating out is expensive, but cooking can take up time that few of us have between classes and club commitments. Often, the only available options are unhealthy or just downright inedible. I am occasionally guilty of eating pricey takeout to avoid cooking because of sheer laziness. Still, I usually find myself in a situation where I need to eat on a budget but don’t have time to run home and cook or am too busy to meal prep. 

Who Takes The North Campus Crown: Toni Morrison vs. North Star Dining

Whether you’re a freshman, sophomore, or upperclassman, you’ve probably experienced either Toni Morrison or North Star Dining Hall. The real question that needs to be answered once and for all is: which is better? While I firmly believe in the philosophy that “West is best,” West is not a convenient walk from North Campus. I find the choice between these dining halls to be a controversial topic among North Campus dwellers, so I will attempt to lay out the options and settle this debate. 

On The Campus Bathroom Desert: The Worst Offenders

Cornell University is not for the faint of heart, or the weak of bladder. I would argue that there is a serious lack of bathrooms, or at least poor placement of existing bathrooms across many areas of campus, particularly on the Arts Quad. These are some locations where the need for bathrooms (or more of existing ones) is dire.
