Cross country began the fall season at Colgate in the Harry Lang Invitational.
Junior Perry Mackinnon, who lead the Red men’s team at the NCAA Northeast Regionals with a time of 30:28 for tenth place individually, earned a spot in the upcoming NCAA Championships.
The men’s team finished sixth out of eight and the women’s team finished seventh out of eight at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship.
The men’s team dominated for first place finishes at both courses while the women’s team secured the first-place finish at UAlbany and a fifth-place finish at Penn State.
The men’s team placed eighth overall and the women’s team placed tenth in the competition at Lehigh University.
The men’s team placed first overall in the team competition and the women’s team won the 6k competition.
“The season, if you had to use one word to categorize it, is a season full of surprises.”
“We don’t want to be seventh, but it is hard to be frustrated when six of our eight runners have a career best finish at the cross-country Heps.”
On her source of inspiration, Knibb named her mother, who just last weekend finished third in her age group at the Ironman World Championships, a grueling race in Kona, Hawaii.
