Fencing Competes at Temple

The fencing team traveled to compete in the 28th annual Temple Collegiate Open, advancing many of its members well into the open.
In the Red’s first contest of the season, sophomore Katherine Thompson was a standout performer for the Red. She advanced to the finals in the epee and came in seventh overall. On her way to the finish, Thompson defeated classmate Tasha Hall. Hall finished in ninth place. Also in the top-20 was sophomore Sallie Dietrech and senior Erica Waichman at 17th and 19th place, respectively.
All of the Red’s foil competitors finished in the top-third of the competition. Sophomore Dana Baines led the pack tying for 10th place.
