After receiving multiple complaints, Cornell University Police arrested a student for third degree sex abuse, unlawful imprisonment and two counts of harassment on Nov. 17. The charges stemmed from four specific instances that spanned from January to November.
Cornell Police arrested a male student Tuesday morning for two counts of harassment, unlawful imprisonment and third degree sex abuse. CUPD began investigating the student after multiple victims reported harassment and unwanted touching on multiple locations on campus.
Ithaca police began arresting several protesters outside of police headquarters Thursday evening. The arrests followed a demonstration against the arrests of three protesters earlier in the day.
The New York Police Department arrested Cornell alumnus Eric Cho ’18, an Applied Economics and Management major, after an altercation involving two New York Police Department officers. According to an NYPD statement sent to The Sun, during the altercation, Cho ran to the driver’s side of the police car, grabbed the officer behind the wheel by his throat, choked him and punched him in the chest.
Cadji Ferguson, who was controversially arrested last April for his alleged involvement in an Ithaca Commons fight, was acquitted of disorderly conduct by Tompkins County Judge Scott Millerthe, who cited lack of evidence in a bench trial.
Both Ithacans charged said that they hadn’t expected their cases to go to trial. In the meantime, a community movement has risen up around them both.

Sethik Howe of Ithaca was charged with rape in the first degree and criminal sex act in the first degree, both class B felonies.
The Ithaca SWAT team discovered cocaine, heroin and a marijuana operation in a Lansing woman’s residence on Wednesday.
Ithaca police responded to two separate robbery cases last week and arrested two men on Thursday responsible for stealing from the Elmira Savings Bank on South Meadow Road and from a 71-year-old female.
