The man called Tompkins County Dispatch at approximately 1:30 a.m., saying that he had fallen into the gorge between College Avenue and Stewart Avenue and requesting assistance, the release said.
The female victim reported receiving unwanted communications and said her email account was tampered with. Cornell police say they have identified Avery as the perpetrator.
Although investigations are ongoing, CUPD has not received reports of any related incidents, Zoner said.
The threats leveled against the University were characterized as non-specific, not singling out a definite location or motive, but contain “clear reference to causing harm,” Zoner wrote.
The victim said she was “forcibly touched” by a male at a party on Friday April 29 at 11:30 p.m.
When the officers arrived to the scene they found a male Cornell student who had been injured during the dispute that had just taken place on College Ave. near Myron Taylor Hall.
“The department should under the motto: ‘Any person, any circumstance,’” Toomey said. “Whoever you are, whatever you’re doing, we’ll get you home safely.”
