A Nor’easter is expected to hit Ithaca and surrounding areas from Monday to Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
As thousands of Cornellians flocked back to Ithaca for the spring semester, the nor’easter that brought heavy snow across the East Coast this week hindered students’ travel plans — creating move-in hurdles beyond testing and quarantine as students drove through heavy snow to get to campus.
Cornell University’s delay in closing campus as a response to the snow storm on Feb. 7 led to some Cornell Dining workers still showing up for their shifts. Some of these then ended up stuck on campus overnight.
Due to a winter storm that struck the greater Tompkins area Saturday night, Cornell University’s Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council had to make changes to their recruitment timelines, including pushing recruitment timelines back a week.
